Dancehall artist Alfa Ssebunya commonly known by his stage name Mudra D Viral has revealed that he boldly rejected a sponsorship deal from a beer company for his upcoming concert, citing religious reasons.
Mudra D Viral, a practicing Muslim man will be entertaining his fans at his maiden concert tomorrow and despite the financial gain from this huge sponsorship, he remained committed to his beliefs.
The ‘Balo Balo’ hitmaker who wishes to maintain a good relationship with his fans from different backgrounds, made it clear that his decision was not a judgment to those who consume alcohol since he respects individual choices but must stay true to his values.
“It is true and I want to let my fans know that I’m a devoted Muslim man who respects my religion. I respect other religions too because everyone is entitled to freedom of worship but as a Muslim man, I turned down a beer sponsor. While we need sponsors, I just had to let this go. This doesn’t mean they won’t be there; they will be but not as sponsors. They will be doing their own things,” he revealed.
This is not the first scenario when Mudra D Viral is committed to his religion, as he halts performances and any musical engagements during the Muslim holy month of Ramadhan.
The much-anticipated concert will happen at Zoe Grounds, Lugogo, and interestingly, mudra has chosen not to use promoters to organize the event but rather his management together with Labejja’s Angry Management which was responsible for Fefe Bussi’s sold-out debut concert in May.
