Daddy Andre real name Andrew Ojambo, has revealed that Ugandan musicians have reaped dust from the music industry.
In his recent interview with Sanyuka TV, Daddy Andre explained that artists can’t list any remarkable achievements for the industry as a whole.
He attributes this to the fact that the artists have kept themselves isolated and not collaborated with other sectors in the entertainment industry. This, he says, has stagnated the industry, making it difficult for them to keep up with the same pace.
“Artists love posing and calling themselves celebrities but the truth is, we haven’t achieved anything for the industry as a whole; putting aside those at individual levels,” Daddy Andre said.
Daddy Andre gave an example of the movie industry that needs music for soundtracks. If the music industry worked hand in hand with them, it would enable their craft to transcend borders through movies.

When the government calls for unity in the entertainment industry, artists often take it as a call to unite within their own sector, ignoring other areas, he said.
Daddy Andre is known for downplaying the achievements of fellow artists and opposing every move they collectively make. With his rebellious nature, however, he says he has enough knowledge to advise creatives, and he believes the industry can only flourish if they combine efforts with others.

“They call me mad but I think they should gather my knowledge and use it to help themselves. All sectors are supposed to work together. Artists just want the copyright law but they do not know that it also concerns those that specifically sing in movies, production, writing and all that. To be successful, they all have to work together,” he revealed.
