Former gospel singer and self-proclaimed prophetess Maggie Kayima, popularly known as Nabbi Omukazzi, has opened up about the emotional trauma she endured during her career as a prophetess.
Through a social media post, Maggie revealed that she is currently on a journey of healing, recovering from the heavy toll that her spiritual gift brought upon her life.
In her message, Maggie addressed the constant questions from followers asking why she seemingly stepped back from the prophetic ministry. “Y’all who keep questioning me, ‘Kati obwa nabbi wabuvaamu?’, ‘Simanyi tokyali nabbi?’ You guys think it’s easy? Munange, I’m still recovering from many significant events,” she shared.
The singer-turned-prophetess disclosed that the emotional burden of witnessing her prophecies come true has left her deeply shaken over the years.
Nabbi Omukazzi recounted one particularly traumatic experience from her time leading a church in Wynberg, Cape Town, South Africa.

Maggie recalled counseling a church member named Patricia, who often sought spiritual guidance regarding her family. During one of their sessions, Maggie prophesied that Patricia’s husband would soon pass away and that his death would be linked to one of his vehicles. Shockingly, within just two weeks, Patricia’s husband tragically lost his life in a car accident involving one of his Quantum minibuses.
“I was shocked and couldn’t believe it myself, even though I was the one who had told her. Nange kyansukako ngomuntu (It overwhelmed me as a person),” Maggie admitted.
She revealed that sharing these experiences publicly is part of her healing process and hopes that it will help her gradually overcome the trauma that still lingers from her days in the prophetic ministry.
Maggie Kayima rose to fame in Uganda’s music industry before transitioning to a religious path, which led her to take on the role of a prophetess.
