Juliana Kanyomozi and the B2C Entertainment trio’s colliding concerts have raised a heated debate online.
On Monday afternoon, Juliana Kanyomozi revealed that she will be hitting the stage again with a concert dubbed “Juliana Live at Serena”
The songbird’s concert will be happening on Friday 19th October at Kampala Serena Hotel.
In the other corner, the singing trio the B2C Entertainment will be thrilling their fans at freedom City on the same date.
The dates of the two concerts have generated divergent opinions from music aficionados, who aired their grievances via their respective socials.
Singer Naira Ali stressed that it is not fair for the two artists to hold concerts on the same date, especially in an “era that sells Perception rather than content”.
The singer reminisced about her debut show, which was sabotaged by a bigger artist who staged another event against hers leaving her psychologically and physical drained.
Naira Ali says this was brought about by the pressure, since both parties embroiled in a stiff competition to create momentum for their impending shows.
The purple chord star maintained that half of the concerts in the country are attended based on the hype surrounding them, rather than the artist’s catalogue or content.
Naira Ali urges artists to stop the skyrocketing vice of staging concerts on the same date, for she believes it creates more harm than good.
Half the concerts in our country are not attended based on the artist’s catalogue or content but rather the hype created around them. The one with bigger advertising gymnastics and budget overwhelms of courseShe added that this did not leaveFor someone to argue that “It’s ok to hold different concerts on the same date since audiences differ” to me is not fair, especially in an “era that sells Perception rather than content”.My first show/unveil was staged on the same date as another bigger artist then, so I know the psychological and physical drain you have to go through on top of double efforts and budgets since you’re both advertising, promoting and creating momentum for the final day using the same “SPACE” and “MEDIUM”.Half the concerts in our country are not attended based on the artist’s catalogue or content but rather the hype created around them. The one with bigger advertising gymnastics and budget overwhelms of courseI believe in future we can avoid this.Naira Ali
