Musician Nina Roz, born Nina Kankunda, has revealed that her political ambitions will continue as usual even when she doesn’t win the election.
A few months back, Nina Roz declared her intention to run for the Sembabule Woman Member of Parliament seat under the National Unity Platform (NUP) in the next general election.
When she decided to pick up the nomination forms from the party headquarters, Nina Roz says she sacrificed her life, career, privacy, and safety. Over the past few months, she has also invested a significant amount of resources in the campaign.
Nina Roz explained that she is currently living in fear of the threats from unknown people to the point that her campaigning posters are being pulled down.

When asked how she would react after going through all this, only to lose in the end, Nina Roz emphasized that her fight for democracy will continue, regardless of the outcome.

She says she contested for the big office to improve the lives of the people in her home district. “I won’t stop. The journey continues until I fulfill my purpose. My purpose is to transform myself and my surroundings. Whatever they are doing to me, trying to put me down, gives me hope. Their fighting against me shows that they can no longer face our voters,” she said.
Nina Roz, however, believes that the people from Sembabule will do the right thing and vote for the best candidate who has their best interests at heart.
