Team Good Music singer Pius Mayanja alias Pallaso has bragged about starting the video-sharing platform TikTok in Uganda.
While addressing the press during the Hays Awards press conference, Pallaso recounted linking up with a Kenyan woman and a South African who shared with him their intention to extend TikTok in Uganda.
Pallaso says the Kenyan woman Gladys convinced him to open the first TikTok account in Uganda, which was verified shortly after its opening.
The King of The East singer added that after opening his account, he was criticized by a section of Ugandans, but he is glad that over the years they jumped to the trend.
The singer went on to express gratitude for TikTok’s positive impact in the country and helping to propel Uganda’s content creation and music industry.
Pallaso is advocating for Hays TikTok Awards, which are aimed at recognizing influential content creators on the platform.
