Team Good Music singer Pius Mayanja alias Pallaso has responded to allegations that he is behind the recent arrest and police detention of his nemesis Fik Gaza.
In an interview with journalists during his recent visit in Mengo, Pallaso denied plotting Fik Gaza’s arrest, expressing a nonchalant attitude towards people spreading the rumor.
“A lot of people say stuff about me. Uganda is a free country, and everyone has their own freedom of speech. People talk, and if we are to jump on everyone, we will not get anywhere,” Pallaso revealed.
The rumour about Pallaso’s involvement was started by gossip guru Black Sugar, who alleged to have been around at the time of Fik Gaza’s arrest. In her submission, she accused Pallaso of having orchestrated the arrest and detention.
She claimed that the person that pressed the charges was identified as Julio, who did it under Pallaso’s instructions. Black Sugar further revealed that Pallaso was trying to use this as a promotion for his concert.
Fik Gaza, and together with his colleagues, was arrested during a police raid conducted at his home in Katwe following the rise in robbery attacks in the area. During the operation, police are said to have recovered machetes, military uniforms, and substances suspected to be drugs.
It should be remembered that Pallaso and Fik Gaza were once close aides. The former has, on many occasions, bragged about rehabilitating the latter from his ghetto ways during his career genesis.
When asked if he would be willing to help him considering their past, Pallaso rejected it, saying Fik Gaza had his family and new friends that he thinks will be there for him.
“He has his own people that will help him. I can’t raise an old man when I have children. We do not wish anyone bad; we all want everyone to be okay and we shall pray for him. We all went through it and when it was my turn, my family came through for me. I cannot carry everyone’s cross and his situation is big because police are involved,” Pallaso revealed.
