The seventh Vice President of Uganda professor Gilbert Bukenya has come out to explain why he spend most of his time with people below his age.
On different occasions, Gilbert Bukenya has been cited engaging in raunchy dance moves with female artists fit to be his grandkids.

Bukenya’s most recent appearance was during Kapa Cats’ performance in Kakiri, where he was recorded slapping the singer’s bum.
Many have criticised his actions on grounds that a man of his caliber appearing in such scenes degrades his reputation.

Appearing in an interview with Sanyuka TV, Gilbert Bukenya defended his actions saying at his age, he ought to be happy to keep depression and pressure at bay.
He further stressed that it is very important for people of his age to associate with those younger than them so as to share new ideas.
He attributed his staying away from his agemates to being bored, and sharing uncoordinated stories of rain and others of a sort.
