Honourable, Dr. and Events promoter Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi has spoken out after Gravity Omutujju’s annual concert that happened over the weekend failed to attract a significant crowd.
Balaam, who was behind the concert, revealed that he had warned the ‘Okwepicha’ hitmaker to stop attacking Mikie Wine and his family before the event, but his advice was ignored.
Gravity’s concert, which was highly publicized, suffered a low turnout, while Mike Wine’s concert, held on the same day, filled up Jahazi Pier. Balaam expressed disappointment in Gravity’s behavior, particularly when he attacked him on stage and accused him of sabotaging and using fake sound equipment.
He clarified that the sound system was in good condition and that it was Gravity’s responsibility to attract a crowd. He stated that the small turnout was a result of his focus on attacking his opponent rather than using his time in the media to promote his show.
Machines do not bring people to the concert but entertain those who have come through. The people that came to his show were even enough to be entertained by a boom box but he wanted bigger machines to make noise for security guards and my workers or the people on the street, Promoter Balaam noted.
Promoter Balaam recalled a phone conversation he had with Gravity where he warned him about the consequences of his actions, advising him to maintain a positive image. Instead, Gravity continued to abuse his rival, leading to a disappointing outcome.
I want these young people to stop mocking people because God is watching. We should have manners if we want to win. He had spent over one week abusing Mikie Wine. I called him on the phone telling him to stop it because he was not even responding to him. He also abused Acidic Vokoz saying no one knew him but then he (Acidic) got a huge crowd on his show, he said.
Promoter Balaam also advised Gravity to return to the studio, record more music, and work on his manners to regain public trust. He hopes Gravity will learn from his mistakes and come back stronger in the future.

Gravity is my artist and one of the people I love. I even put up a poster wishing him a nice show. I take him like a son but I was so disappointed when he came out and abused my sound system yet he was the one that brought the stage backlight. All the people in the crowd were hearing, it was only him and that was a problem with the band. He is the one who hired those, Promoter Balaam said.
