Female rapper Recho Rey, real name Mirembe Racheal, has revealed that she prefers being managed by male managers. She prefers this mainly because of their high emotional intelligence.
In an interview with Galaxy TV, Recho Rey explained that females are filled with many emotions and egos. Consequently, it can be hard to work together, as they easily clash.
The ‘Gweno Dawo’ singer is currently under the management of stylist Trace De Lines. They have been working together for a long time since her split with Arnold Ssempijja, alias Apple. Recho Rey hailed him for being able to handle her mood swings and keep her calm when she is not at her best.
“We are so emotional; for a female to manage the other, you must be strong. I have observed with my manager that he has done a lot to manage my emotions. He understands me in every situation and still keeps calm. But if it were a female manager, we would both lose it simultaneously and end up unproductive,” she said.

The music industry has witnessed different cases involving male managers sexually harassing their female artists. Still, it is a different case for Recho Rey. She says her manager has been respectful. She further described him as an aggressive and hardworking gentleman. He knows how to run the business and has sustained her for this long.

Recho Rey, however, doesn’t rule out working with a manager of the same gender. But she would prefer her to be part of her styling team. This would help her in cases where she needs a female touch on her wardrobe.
