Veteran musician Red Banton has opened up on his life struggles that are slowly pushing him into depression to the point of abusing alcohol.
Red Banton was one of the music industry’s household names in the 2000s, but he has nothing to show for it. In an interview with Sanyuka TV, the Nonya Money hitmaker revealed that he is currently struggling to clear the house rent of 400K and raise the school fees for his children, citing unemployment.
The veteran singer recently warned Jose Chameleone never to attend his burial because he feels he is the cause of his misfortune. Red Banton revealed that he was one of the few people who helped Chameleone in his career, but things turned sour when he allegedly bewitched him.
“Chameleone with some other people went to the shrine in Nkonkonjeru and gave in my name plus Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine. They told me after they fell out and unfortunately the witchdoctor they went to died recently,” he said.
Red Banton revealed that he was not scared of being sued because he had evidence and confessions from the people he went with to the shrine.

I was never like this. Before I met him, I was making a lot of money from my music. If he disagrees with my confessions, he should go to court and say I’m trying to ruin his reputation. Then I will bring out the people he went to the shrine with and also carry him to the shrine he took my name to,” Red Banton vowed.
He further revealed that he stopped making music because it has become too expensive lately. Therefore, he begged Nobat Events to help him secure a meeting with Operation Wealth Creation boss Gen. Salim Saleh for financial assistance.

“Music is not hard, but it needs money. You need close to 500K to produce an audio, video for close to 5 million and ten million for distribution. Plus, I can also perform at my concert if I get a promoter willing to organize it,” he noted.
