Dancer Ritah Dancehall real name Ritah Nasaazi has threatened to sue the Uganda National Cultural Center (UNCC) for including her name on the list of artists summoned over indecent dressing.
The dancer was mentioned alongside Gloria Bugie and Shakira Shakiraa and was cautioned not to return on stage for indecent dressing.
In a phone interview with a radio station, Ritah expressed her shock, revealing that she has always carried herself in a decent way and couldn’t understand why her name was put on that particular list.
Ritah Dancehall specifically mentioned Phina Mugerwa who chaired the meeting, expressing her hurt and disappointment that a fellow female artist would not understand the complexities of her job.
She further challenged the committee to bring out evidence of her performing on stage naked and fair to do so, she promised to sue them for trying to not only tarnish her image but also sabotage her work.
I was surprised when they included my name saying that I’m indecent and what hurt me the most was a fellow lady saying that. I would understand if it was a man because they usually do not get it.
As one of the most popular dancers in the industry right now, Ritah Dancehall explained that she had done a lot to uplift the profession and she deserves to be encouraged and appreciated instead of being criticized.

They should show me this picture or else I will sue them. All they do is sit in their offices and speak on people’s names. Instead of putting me down, they should uplift me because I have done a lot for this dance industry. If they are to mention indecent people, I’m not among them. We have seen many of them but I wonder why they are picking me out instead,” Ritah Dancehall said.
