Band singer Joweria Nanozi known by her stage name Sasha Brighton has responded to netizens who claim that she is unlucky in love considering the series of unsuccessful romantic relationships.
Over the years, Sasha Brighton has been linked to several men in the Uganda entertainment industry. Big Eye Starboss, Mathias Walukagga, Don Chris, and Herbert Shonga among others have all had a fling with the singer.
During an interview, Sasha Brighton acknowledged being an attractive woman who could easily be admired and claimed by men who wished to have her for themselves.
They (those who claim she is unlucky) have a problem because I’m in the limelight. I want them to mention all the men they claim I have had relationships with, she said.
Sasha Brighton denied having been in any relationship with any of the listed men including Shonga who had allegedly abandoned his marriage and moved on with her. She claimed that he was just a good Samaritan who was helping out with her music career and not her man as the blogs claim.
I have never come out to claim that I was in a relationship with any of those men. Have you ever seen me getting married? Maybe they had a wild crush on me because I’m a very beautiful woman. For Walukagga, I respect him as my elder; there is no way I could be in a relationship with him because I grew up seeing him doing music. He is our mentor, she said.
The ‘Kawomera’ hitmaker revealed she will only accept being in a relationship with a man who will take a bold step and marry her officially; that is the man that she will publicly claim as her husband.
The day you see my wedding ceremony, that is the man you will tag on me as my husband because that means he would have paid my bride price. Or when I come out and claim a man, that will be it because it will be coming from my mouth, she said.
Recently, social media was awash with reports that Sasha Brighton was involved with tycoon Don Chris who was also believed to be dating Brown Shuga. Rumors claimed that the two ladies were involved in a secret fight over the same man.
Sasha, however, denied the allegations claiming that she was just friends with Don Chris and as soon as the rumors started spreading suggesting a relationship between them, they had to give each other a break.
Chris was my good friend but you guys talked a lot and I decided to let go because it was destroying my family. We are still friends but not as close as we were,” she said, as she denied allegations of having any beef with Brown Sugar over Don.
