Shakira Shakiraa has opened up on why she rarely collaborates with male artists, citing they always end up asking for sexual favors before working with her.
In an interview, Shakira Shakiraa recounted a married male musician asking for sexual favors before they could collaborate on a song.
For the ones that she managed to work with, she abandoned the songs when some of these artists veered off the course as they expressed their desires to bed her.
Some songs are even stuck in the studio because of male artists trying to bed me. But they are the same people that come before the camera and pretend to love their wives and families very much. So, you just ignore them and ditch the collabos too, she said.
Among the few male artists that Shakira has collaborated with is David Lutalo on ‘Am In Love’ and she holds him in high regard, describing him as one of the most respectful male artists she has encountered. She says they went through all the stages of their song without Lutalo turning against her.
That is why I respect David Lutalo. He sticks on business and stays professional without anything fishy. If he says he will come through, he will be there on time and not try to take you through the corners.
He is very different; I’m not saying this because he has a concert but he is the type you call and talk for a long time without him diverting. You even ask him for money and he does it freely without expecting something in return, not like these other artists that give you a million shillings and act like they have been taking care of you your entire life, Shakira Shakiraa said.
Shakira Shakiraa also expressed her disgust towards the act, advising the male musicians who partake in it to stop citing they are losing respect.

Please change because when you do these things, we lose respect for you. I approach you because I feel you are talented and have something you will add to my career so if you divert, I lose respect totally and even ditch the idea of collaborating with you, she noted.
