Shifura of the Hoozambee fame is crying foul after her old management allegedly fleeced her of all the money she had made from numerous gigs, leaving her very broke and struggling to take care of herself and fulfill her child’s needs.
Shifura rose to fame following the release of Hoozambe’s hit song which trended on social media platforms globally. This made her one of the hottest entertainment figures at that time, bagging her endorsements and payments to appear at different events.
With all these opportunities coming her way, Shifurah got signed to her old management which she says used her fame to make money but was in turn paid peanuts and did not earn anything from it.
Shifura said she was afraid of asking for money to cater to her needs citing that every time she did, misunderstandings arose.
The old TikTok account that she used to make some money was retained by the old management and when she tried to open up a new one, it failed to capture people’s attention.
My dream was to set up a salon and, in my mind, I thought by the time the hype wore down, I would have got something but I did not. The little money they gave me covered my three months’ rent and bought some other things. I did not get anything from my management.
She is now struggling to make ends meet and maintain the new lifestyle she had acquired as she doesn’t want to slide back to her old ways.
I deeply regret the celebrity life because I do not have peace. I usually break down in my house and cry because whatever dream I had did not come true. I cannot do odd jobs that I used to do back in the day like bartending because people will mock the person I have become, she said.
She is currently losing weight due to stress caused by rent, her child, feeding, and other bills that she has failed to pay because she is currently jobless. Her dream is to secure some money and start a business or get a job in a salon.
