Renowned singer Hajjat Sophie Nantongo has challenged her former bandmate, Catherine Kusasira, to a music battle, if she agrees.
While speaking to journalists after her press conference at Serena, Sophie Nantongo responded to Catherine Kusasira’s claims that she could easily win her (Nantongo) together with Maureen Nantume in a music battle.
Sophie Nantongo bragged that Catherine Kusasira was intimidated by her talent and stage prowess, hence couldn’t dare go against her.
She claims that every time she suggested going head-to-head with Catherine Kusasira on stage, the presidential advisor always backed out.
“Catherine is lying. She cannot handle me as she is easily intimidated by just my presence. But the battle will come like it or not. Unless she backs out like she usually does,” she said.
With both artists being in the same genre of music and having a huge fan base behind them, Sophie Nantongo believes they could easily garner supporters for the battle.

“I’m always here, even when we grow old, I can easily give it to her. We cannot fail to get a proper venue for the battle as long as she agrees to it, which I think she cannot because she is scared of me,” Nantongo said jokingly.
Music battles are slowly gaining momentum in the Ugandan music industry, and they help musicians to not only earn big but also claim superiority.

Many artists use them to settle scores of who has the most considerable support. However, Sophie Nantongo’s challenge of a music battle with Catherine Kusasira should be taken lightly since they are friends and have no beef between them.
