South Africa’s Zakes Bantwini beats Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo to win the prestigious Grammy Award.
Over the weekend, the 65th annual Grammy Awards came to its climax with a number of A-listers going home with their prestigious awards.
Held on 05th February 2023, the colorful ceremony was held in Los Angeles Crypto.com Arena USA.
Having been nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for his feature on Matt B’s song ‘Gimme Love‘, Eddy Kenzo touched down in the USA on 1st February ahead of the awarding ceremony.
The pair locked horns in the Grammys with Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, and Pakistan’s Arooj Aftabin in the Best Global Music Performance category.
However, South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode emerged victorious in the category.

The South African winning trio consists of Nomcebo Zikode, who is renowned as the singer in “Jerusalema,” singer, record producer, and singer Zakes Bantwini, and celebrated flutist, producer, and composer Wouter Kellerman.
Despite losing at the Grammys, Edrisah Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo is unfazed by the development and is certain that he would perform better the following time.
