Source Management singer Spice Diana has addressed the long-awaited collaboration with Tanzanian Bongo flava star Diamond Platnumz, revealing two key reasons for the delay.
During an interview with UBC, the singer cited financial limitations as a major obstacle, saying producing high-quality videos that match Diamond Platnumz’s status requires a huge investment, which she currently cannot afford.
Spice Diana has visited Diamond’s home a couple of times and photos of the visits flooded online but despite the speculations surrounding their visits, she emphasized her focus on music and not romantic entanglements.
Sometimes it is about the money when it comes to the good quality video. This guy had just had a collaboration with Jason Derulo and he put in a lot of money that we do not earn here. Meaning if I want to make a video with Diamond, I have to raise close to $50,000, she said.
Spice Diana also tagged the delay to her refusal to compromise her values by trading favors for video production. She stated that she was prioritizing maintaining her integrity over taking the ‘easier route’.
And if you want to have the easier route, you have to give in your body. And I’m a very mean person when it comes to that. If you want to ease some things, there are certain things you have to give in. This is the easiest way and you might end up not even investing any coins.
I’m a good-looking woman and these artists always ask for sex but I will instead make you my friend. Si It is up to you, you either stay as my buddy and we do business or we let it go. Until I get that money and feel I’m ready for the video, we shall stick to that, Spice Diana revealed.
Spice Diana reflected on her collaboration with Harmonize, ‘Kokonyo’ which was released in 2020. She disclosed paying a substantial amount of money to get Harmonize to the studio but noted it was still cheaper than what Diamond Platnumz would require.
When asked if she has received any sexual advances from Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize, Spice Diana confirmed receiving proposals but firmly established boundaries, maintaining a professional relationship.
“They have made advances but I’m not like that. I stroll you. If the money is there and I’m ready to sacrifice that money, I can go for them because that will be professional. But if I wanted to go the easiest way, maybe the video would have been out by then.

These are challenges we face as female artists. The industry is dirty out there so you have to choose whether you are going to get dirty with it or stay and wait for the good things to come to you,” she said.
The collaboration with Diamond Platnumz may not be ready yet but Spice Diana promised fans to anticipate an upcoming international collaboration with a prominent star who she did not reveal.
