Nagirinya Shifrah

Late Ssegirinya’s daughter Nagirinya Shifrah reported missing; driver allegedly involved

Nagirinya Shifrah, one of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya’s orphans has been reported missing by her mother Nanfuka Fatumah.

The late legislator was laid to rest on 12th January in Butale, Kadugala-Masaka, and at around 8 PM following the burial, Nagirinya was ordered to join her siblings in the bedroom where they would lay for the night. Nanfuka claims she searched for her daughter all night but in vain.

When she tried asking around, the deceased’s mother Nakajumba Justine revealed that she suspected the Nagirinya Shifrah had been taken by one of the family members who had come for the funeral and connived with Kasagga Bosco the driver.

The family rushed to Masaka Police Station to make a missing person’s report before they left for Kampala. The same night, Nanfuka claims that she received a phone call confirming her fears saying Kasagga had admitted to having Shifrah and that he would not release her back to her mother.

By press time, the visibly distressed Nanfuka argued with Kasagga on the phone, and after a long argument, he agreed that Nagirinya Shifrah would be sent back home the coming Sunday.

Muhammad Ssegirinya, Mother

She believes this is part of the ploy by some family members to get the condolence money that was collected from parliament without giving part of it to the mother who raised the deceased’s children.

“Whatever Kasagga and everyone behind it is planning, they should know that I still remain Nagirinya’s mother. They might insert someone else in my place but I’m her mother. I want them to explain to me why they would want to take my child away from me,” she said as she begged Hon. Balaam to help get her child back from the malicious people.

Kibirigge Muwonge, elder brother to Nanfuka revealed that the money struggles started during the burial when the family ordered her to hand in some condolence money that she had received following Ssegirinya’s death.
