St Kizito High School Hosts 5th Green Expo & Fish Festival

St Kizito High School Namugongo is gearing up to host its annual Fish Festival this Saturday, November 9th, 2024, inviting students, alumni, parents, and well-wishers to join in a lively celebration of aquaculture and practical skills development on the school grounds.

The festival, part of the school’s end-of-year program, is designed to showcase the hands-on learning initiatives that have become integral to the student’s education beyond traditional classroom activities.

With a theme of Promoting Competence-based Skills for a Sustainable Green Future, the festival promises a day filled with cultural performances, demonstrations, and a unique focus on the benefits of fish farming.

The school has invested in its own fish ponds, allowing students to learn the fundamentals of aquaculture, including the nutritional benefits of fish and the importance of sustainable fish farming. This approach not only equips students with practical skills but also broadens their understanding of food production and self-sustainability.

The fish served at the festival is entirely sourced from the school’s ponds, a testament to the hard work and dedication of students who have carefully raised and nurtured the fish under the guidance of their teachers.
