Singer Stecia Mayanja has opened up about how Carol Nantongo’s allegations almost ruined her entire career, which she had spent years building.
For a long time now, there has been a rumour about the pair secretly beefing, and in an interview with Gossip Live, Stecia Mayanja confirmed the allegations. The ‘Kantinti’ hitmaker narrated that the tension between her and Carol Nantongo started years back when she donated stage clothes to her and a group of ladies in the band.
Stecia says she did this after seeing how poorly they dressed to go on stage and wanted to revamp their fashion sense and style.
“They changed their dressing because of me, and they appreciated it. They knew I was the one who cared for them the most. I kept looking out for them to see if they had eaten because I understood the situation,” she said.
Stecia further reveals that she called all the ladies, Carol Nantongo included, and gave them the liberty to choose whatever clothes they each wanted. On many occasions, Stecia says she took an extra step to act as a mediator in their fights, and all of them appreciated her and referred to her as a ‘mother’.
Two weeks after sharing her wardrobe with them, Stecia said she heard a rumour that Carol Nantongo had burnt the stuff she had gifted her.

Upon asking the reason behind her actions, Stecia learned that Carol said that Stecia had intentions of bewitching them and sabotaging their careers and destinies. Since then, there has been tension between them to the point that they have never talked about anything. Carol severed her ties with Stecia from the moment she burnt the clothes.
Stecia narrates that the enemity reached the point where her music was not played at some radio and television stations because of Carol Nantongos’ blackmail.

“One day, a Program Director broke my music CD in front of me. This was because she said I was a witch. Allegedly, she went and knelt down before him crying that I was going to use witchcraft to kill her and her child,” she said.
Stecia explained that Carol Nantongo’s allegations ruined her image before the public. Most people who hated her, including TV and radio presenters, stopped being friends.
“Many people hate me up to today. I had many friends in the media but they all deserted me. Worst of all, even my bosses hated me. No one understood me. I once performed on stage with just a drummer. No one was there to back me up, everyone on stage ran off when they saw me coming up because they thought I was a witch,” she said.
