Musician Stecia Mayanja’s mother, Ms. Cissy Nakiganda, advised her to reconcile with her ex-husband, Fred Kitaka Busuulwa.
Over the weekend, Stecia Mayanja held a concert at the Serena Hotel, bringing her mother on stage to celebrate with her. She was visibly emotional as she knelt and thanked Ugandans for supporting her daughter.
Shortly after the show, Ms. Nakiganda had a chat with Spark TV, who asked about her daughter’s love life. She confessed that Stecia had the liberty to go with whatever man she wanted, but she would be comfortable if she settled with her ex, Kitaka Fred.
“I cannot stand in the way of her blessing if she gets the right one. But I personally still want her to be with Kitaka. I do not know why I like him,” she said.
Ms. Nakiganda, when talking about her ex-son-in-law, confessed that he was a serial cheater who was never faithful to her daughter. This, however, doesn’t bother her, as she believes he may have grown up and changed his ways.

“He was a serial womanizer but I still liked him. Maybe he changed because when you grow up, you change. Naturally, I liked him naturally,” she said.

Stecia Mayanja and Kitaka Fred held their colourful introduction ceremony in 2008, which continued until the end of 2011, when she left the marriage. The ex-couple started making headlines shortly after their introduction ceremony when Kitaka allegedly took back the car he had gifted Stecia during their ceremony, as it was intended for public display. They sired one child.
