Swangz Avenue marked the launch of its eagerly awaited Swangz All Star Album last night with a remarkable event at Kampala’s latest venue, Nonivie.
A diverse gathering of celebrities, industry leaders, media figures, and fans came together to celebrate the Swangz All Star Album, which showcases some of the most exceptional talent from East Africa.
The Swangz All Star Album listeners’ party featured an impressive guest list, including prominent Ugandan artists such as Bebe Cool, Iryn Namubiru, Maro, Karole Kasita, The Mith, Grenade, along with notable radio and television personalities.
The Swangz Avenue team was well-represented by their distinguished artists, including Azawi, Vinka, Zafaran, Zagazillions, Elijah Kitaka, Winnie Nwagi, and Double Black. Collaborating artists John Blaq, Ava Peace, and Apass were also present, while producers Nessim, Steven Keys (mixing and sound engineer), and Andrew Ahuurra (immersive mixing engineer) provided insights into the album’s production process.
The evening commenced with a black carpet experience, where DJs, including Swangz Avenue’s own Eyo Marcus, created an inviting atmosphere with a carefully selected playlist. Guests shared their enthusiasm for the Swangz All Star Album during interviews and enjoyed cocktails from Jameson alongside a variety of delectable snacks. Hosts Sammy Wetala and Eyo Marcus entertained attendees with Swangz Avenue-themed trivia, offering exclusive gift hampers and tickets to the much-anticipated Dexta Daps concert scheduled for December 14.
The official listening session, guided by Benon Mugumbya, commenced at 9:30 pm, featuring each track played in the album’s intended sequence. Attendees were fully engaged in the rich, collaborative sound of Swangz Avenue, with opportunities to interact directly with the artists and producers. The 16-track album captivated the audience, with standout performances of the night including “Wanika Bendela” by Vinka, John Blaq, and Elijah Kitaka, “Mary Jane” by Winnie Nwagi, Azawi, and Zagazillions, and “Red Flag” by Vinka and Azawi.
