The late political analyst Tamale Mirundi’s son Tamale Mirundi Junior has been disowned by his clan.
Before Tamale Mirundi’s death, he had waged a verbal war on the Buganda Kingdom, for reasons that were best known to him.
Following his death, the Kingdom snubbed his funeral, due to the rift between them. However, midway through the funeral, the family expressed their sincere apologies and pleaded to meet the Buganda Prime Minister (Katikiro) to make amends and ensure that their father’s soul rests in peace.
On September 25th, 2024, the family’s request was honored, meeting the Katikiro at Bulange in Mengo. During the meeting, the Katikiro on behalf of the Kabaka, acknowledged the family’s apology and cautioned Ugandans against missing social media platforms to attack their others.
However, Tamale Mirundi Junior didn’t concur with the family’s decision, vowing never to apologize to the Buganda Kingdom. He expressed his unwavering belief in his father who died before issuing any apology to Buganda, before attacking whoever advised him.
Over the weekend, Tamale Mirundi Junior was invited to a clan meeting, where he was criticized for his actions. Despite the advice, Junior remained unremorseful and made statements that didn’t sit well with the elders.
