Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa confronts Ssenga Acid over affair claims involving Sheilah Gashumba

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has promised to deal with Canada-based blogger Senga Acid for alleging he was having extra-marital affairs with socialite Sheilah Gashumba.

In one of her numerous videos posted online, the popular Snapchat and TikTok sensation claimed that the married Deputy Speaker was in a secret relationship with socialite Sheilah Gashumba and that they had been meeting occasionally in different hangout spots.

During one of the parliamentary sessions, Hon. Tayebwa strongly denied the allegations, stating that he first saw the video after his wife sent it to him much to his utter shock.

In his defense, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa revealed that he had never met or interacted with Sheilah Gashumba, only to wake up to the rumors he deemed baseless and untrue.

“I just woke up and saw some lady running a video on me that I’m sleeping with some celebrity lady in town and she appeared serious breaking the news. How can you talk authoritatively about someone whose number I do not have, someone who I have never spoken to?” Thomas Tayebwa questioned.

Hon. Tayebwa revealed that the blogger has made similar allegations against many other people including fellow colleagues all in the name of looking for content to get paid by social media.

He noted that these malicious accusations were not only destroying his family but also his reputation and has vowed to have her questioned as soon as she steps into Uganda.

“TikTok pays, so people are desperately looking for content which is why they just keep talking about others. I must follow her because we cannot allow this nonsense to continue. One day she will visit Uganda and the law will be applied because you can’t just go and destroy people’s families.

Just because you are in Canada and you think you are safe. They pay you because of that content and even get adverts to run on your page but you are making money by destroying my name and reputation; you think I will keep quiet? We have to go after these people,” Hon Tayebwa vowed.
