At around 10 PM, House Of Prayer ministries lead pastor, Aloysious Bujingo survived an attack by shooting which unfortunately led to the death of his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard. The incident happened on 2nd January at Bwalakata Junction, Namungoona Parish
Comedian Maulana taken to court for child neglect
In February, comedian Maulana Kasozi was arrested, charged, and remanded over child neglect of his three children. The case was reported by his estranged baby mama, Nalujja Betty Shubira and when he appeared before the Resident State Attorney Mwanga II Court in Mengo, he was ordered to pay Shs—10 M to cater for a full year of school fees and rent.
Eddy Kenzo’s appointment as a senior presidential advisor on creatives
In August, the UNMF president joined the growing list of 160 advisers of the head of state after his appointment as senior presidential adviser on creatives by President Museveni. While many artists criticized his leadership, he challenged them to come forward with ideas that they think are better than his.
Geosteady being taken to rehab
In September, social media was awash with Geosteady’s supposed decline musically, family and mentally attributing it to excessive drug use. The singer denied the allegations via TikTok live tagging his struggles to stress, depression, and betrayal by trusted friends who he claimed drugged him in order to steal from him. It was not long before Kasuku reported that he had been committed to rehab for the same problem.
Eddy Kenzo marrying Hon. Nyamutooro
Not only did the romantic relationship between Eddy Kenzo and minister Phiona Nyamutooro come to light this year, but the singer also made it official in June when he visited her parents’ home in a secret traditional ‘Kukyala’ ceremony accompanied by close family and friends. When the news broke on the internet, many thought it was just a music video.
Bobi Wine being shot with a teargas canister
In early September, singer and politician Bobi Wine was hit by a teargas canister during a scuffle with the police. It injured his leg, prompting him to get hospitalized at Nsambya Hospital to treat his wounds. The news caused an uproar on social media, with his fans and followers thinking that he had been shot with a live bullet during the chaos.
Sheebah and Cindy Sanyu’s music battle
Longtime nemeses Sheebah and Cindy finally got the chance to face off on the same stage in the highly anticipated music battle. Not only did they reap big financially out of the battle, their fans also got the exciting and memorable experience that they were looking for. Those who attempted the battle still talk about the electric atmosphere and the fun they had.
Sheebah unveiled her pregnancy
The news about Sheebah Karungi being pregnant started trending earlier this year until she confirmed it during her Neyanziza concert when she appeared on stage wearing revealing outfits that exposed her bulging baby bump. It was not long after she became a topic of discussion on social media following an audio that leaked exposing her conversation with her supposed co-wife, where she was heard expressing her open-mindedness and willingness to be part of her family after seeing the man’s photos.

Alien Skin Being taken to prison
Alien Skin made news in November after the violent attack that he and his boys did at Nsambya Hospital harming a few of its staff. Upon his arrest, it was revealed that he was also battling robbery charges of an iPhone. He spent a few days in prison and was later released on a cash bail of Shs. 1 million. The rough experience seemed to have had a huge impact on him, prompting him to rethink his life spiritually thus converting to Islam.
King Saha attacked Chameleone
In September, King Saha publicly called out his once mentor, Jose Chameleone, accusing him of being selfish and disloyal. He claimed the Leone Island boss was trying to tear him down at the same time bragging about how he mentored him under his label. King Saha vowed to never collaborate with him because of this.
Abba Marcus accused his father, Jose Chameleone of alcohol abuse
19-year-old Abba Marcus Mayanja dropped a bombshell exposing his paternal family and accusing them of neglecting his father, Jose Chameleone who he said was constantly abusing alcohol. Because of his addiction, he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
Weasel slapping Nobat Events
Weasel Manizzo made headlines when a video surfaced on social media of him physically assaulting Nobat Events who was the promoter behind his Memories Of Goodlyfe concert. He was accusing him of refusing to pay him the money that had come out from the concert.

Flopped concerts
This year, we had a number of flopped concerts that got people talking but the most significant one was Gravity Omutujju’s Émbaga Ya Isma Ne Amina’ at Cricket Oval which registered a very low turnout. Prior to the concert, the rapper threw jabs at his nemesis, Mikie Wine with whom they were sharing the concert dates but in a turn of events, he ended up filling Jahazi Pier, leaving Gravity struggling with a handful of fans at one of the biggest concert venues in Uganda.
