Singer Topic Kasente is seeking financial assistance to foot his medical bills as she grapples with injuries sustained during the just concluded Neyanziz concert.
Topic Kasente took a miscalculated step midway through his performance at Sheebah Karungi’s ‘Neyanziza’ concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, which saw him fall off the stage.
Subsequently, Topic Kasente escorted Sheebah to perform at one of her extra concerts at Collines Hotel in Mukono, where he suffered the same fate when he tried to step on a chair as he was performing for his fans.
When examined, he was found with a herniated disk at the back of his neck that affected movement around the neck area. The doctors prescribed a sponge neck brace that he would wear for about two weeks for his neck muscles to be better.
I still get pain in the muscles when I try to move my neck around but I feel better because of the way the brace is holding it in one place,” Topic Kasente revealed as he confirmed getting pain whenever he tries to swallow food because of the strain on his windpipe.
The ‘Laila’ hitmaker called out to his family and friends to help him with finances to handle his medical bills to help him get through the injury
It’s mostly my fans, family and friends that are concerned about me because as artists we usually do not love each other. I’m so thankful for how they are checking on me but above all, I’m here seeking financial assistance to help me sort my medical bills because I cannot handle it.
The doctors told me not to talk a lot but I have to let people know how I am. I’m in the music industry and they are the ones who will come out to help me. I’m pleading with the fans to come through for me,” he pleaded.
Despite having fallen twice on different days, Topic Kasente claims that he only felt the pain the next day after the shows and he was reluctant about getting medical attention.
Amidst the excruciating pain, he still proceeded to Masaka for Sheebah’s concert, citing the need to be there for her on her last show before she goes for her musical break.
This was Sheebah’s last show before the break so as the army, we had to be there for her before sending her off to the holiday and however much I sustained the injuries, I’m happy that I was there for her, he said.
