Rising musician Tracy Melon, real name Tracy Mirembe, has listed the qualities she would consider before dating a man, and empathy tops the list.
Tracy Melon, during a TV interview, was asked to describe the kind of man she would fall in love with. In her response, she noted that a man with the emotional understanding and ability to understand and share the feelings of another person would easily sweep her off her feet.
While many women consider money before they date a man, Tracy Melon begs to differ, as many of them are selfish at heart. Empathy involves understanding another person’s feelings and imagining yourself in their shoes; this, according to Tracy, is often accompanied by love and kindness towards those around you.
I want a man who is empathetic, a person who has a soft spot for others. There are people who look good, have money but have a dirty heart. People are so cruel, so to me, empathy is key.
You could be less confident because that grows with time but a person who connects with other people’s experiences is a lover. Empathy carries love, kindness; meaning you will not wake up and be rude towards me because you know how it feels to be in the same position,” she said.
When speaking about her major red flags in a man, Tracy emphasized that she wouldn’t go for an atheist who doesn’t believe in God’s existence.

A person who doesn’t believe in God; a person who doesn’t believe that God exists. You might not go to church on Sunday, but believe that there is a supreme being above you. If you do not believe in the existence of God, that is a red flag to me,” she said.
