Congratulations are in order for Ugandan activist and climate justice advocate Vanessa Nakate who was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science in Social Science at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The 26-year-old was recently appointed the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is a founder of Rise Up Climate Movement which adds detail to the voices of activists in Africa.
Over the years, Vanessa Nakate has raised awareness about the dangers of climate change, its causes, and its effects.
Vanessa Nakate holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing from MUBS and with a well-known record of activism over the years.
In 2020, she started a fundraising campaign to save Congo’s rainforest which was facing deforestation. The movement that started in Africa now has members from across the globe.
