Singer Vyper Ranking has shown his dismay with media houses that rejected his music video over a bikini scene.
According to Vyper Ranking, a few weeks after releasing his single dubbed “Gwookya”, he embarked on promoting the song.
To attain this, he stormed various prominent media houses distributing his new project expecting to be given the required airplay.
However, since his video had a scene portraying a vixen clad in a bikini, he faced challenges in the promotion process.
Upon some presenters reviewing the song, they drew conclusions that the video didn’t meet the broadcasting standards as per the Uganda Communications Commission directive under the Anti-Pornography law.
To his surprise, the same media houses that trashed his music video because of the explicit content embarked on broadcasting Nigerian singer Ruger’s song that contained even more obscenity compared to his video.
The singer wondered if the anti-pornography law applies only to the local content and not to foreign content.

Vyper Ranking further revealed that such media houses are hindering the growth of the Ugandan music industry and shouldn’t be blaming local artists for not working hard to tap into the foreign music market.
He however appreciated deejays, presenters and other media houses that welcomed his song with open hands and gave it the airplay it deserved.
