Da Nu Eagles singer Bettina Namukasa and Jovan Luzinda teared up midway through Geoffrey Lutaaya’s just concluded press conference.
Midway through his speech at the Love Memories press conference, Geoffrey Lutaaya recognized his two mentored talents Bettina Namukasa and Jovan Luzinda.
Following being given an opportunity to address members of the press, Jovan Luzinda was overtaken by emotions, upon reflecting on his past before Geoffrey Lutaaya supported him to actualize his musical ambitions.
Geoffrey Lutaaya revealed that initially, Jovan Luzinda was hawking clothes and washing DJ Emma’s car to earn a living.
During one of their engagements, Jovan Luzinda notified Geoffrey Lutaaya that he harbored a singing talent, without the required resources to bring his dream of being a star to life.
Jovan Luzinda’s acapella of one of his creations left Lutaaya impressed, got him a self-contained house, and funded all his bills, and through hard work the singer transitioned into one of the music icons Uganda has today.
On the other hand, Lutaaya reflected on Bettina Namukasa’s career genesis, revealing amid his busy work schedule in Dubai, he emailed her breakthrough song “Emikisa Gy’abazi,” and instructed her to record it little did they know that it would be the singer’s starting point.
