Celebrated dancehall musician Rabadaba, real name Faisal Sseguya, has opened up on why he decided to switch genres, saying it was to avoid clashing with his friend GNL Zamba.
In a heartwarming post, Rabadaba noted that when he was starting out his career, he was more interested in Hip Hop, but he figured he would clash in competition with GNL Zamba, who he considered a brother.
This would put the two of them in a difficult position in their quest for supremacy as GNL ruled the rap industry and Rabadaba claimed he is the kind that is always obsessed with winning in every aspect.
“You see, I saw the future and deeped the fact that me and G were going to clash. I loved G as a brother, and I never wanted to have to be in a position where we would have to go toe to toe. Reason being, I always wanted it all. I always wanted the crown regardless of where I am at, and he had that crown,” Rabadaba posted.
As the versatile artist that he is, Rabadaba swiftly switched up, thus reinventing himself and becoming one of the hottest dancehall stars running the industry.
Rabadaba got his big breakthrough in 2009 when he released his hit single ”Bwekiri.” He followed it up with other bangers like ”Mukyamu,” and ”Oli Mubi” before jumping on a collaboration with the Goodlyfe Crew.

Although he mastered the art of the dancehall genre, Rabadaba infuses hip-hop with Ragga and a touch of Lugaflow. With this, he invented his music style ‘Luga-Ragga-Dancehall’.
