Despite the glamorous gift, the ‘Ebiliko’ hitmaker is still hesitant to commit even when her man keeps asking her to officialize their relationship.
In an interview, Shakira Shakiraa expressed her concern that accepting her man’s proposal and becoming a full-time housewife would change her life dramatically.
She believes that marriage comes with too much pressure and societal expectations that are likely to suppress her independence.
Known for her indecent dressing, the mother of one worries that her partner will try to change her out of jealousy yet she fears losing her freedom. She has therefore asked him to wait until when she feels she is ready for the sacrifices that come with marriage.
I’m still the one holding back on this marriage thing but he keeps talking about it all the time. My man keeps pestering me to come home but I keep putting him on hold and asking him to wait.
I hear marriage is not easy. I do not think if I get married, I will still be doing the things I’m doing, and dressing the way I dress right now. Men usually get jealous when they marry you because he will keep questioning if I’m going out dressed the way I’m dressed. He should first wait,” she said.
Despite taking the time to get married, Shakira Shakiraa remains confident and positive that she will one day get married.
