Swangz Avenue singer Winnie Nwagi, a single mum of one has addressed her desire to protect and guide her daughter in the future. Being a vibrant party animal and a musician, Winnie Nwagi hopes to shield her teenage daughter from experiencing the negative aspects of her life.
Nwagi has previously taken up the responsibility of sole caregiver of her thirteen-year-old Mirembe Destiny Val and worked so hard to be a positive influence in her life.
She may have wanted her to enjoy the benefits of her success but is careful about exposing her to the challenges that come with it.
There are some really good things I have gone through and achieved that I would want her to experience but I would not want her to go through the bad side; I would like to be there to guide her as her mother. I pray for a long life so that I’m present, Winnie Nwagi revealed.
Among the few things she wants to protect Destiny from is alcoholism, a habit that she has confessed she struggles with herself. She understands the dangers and side effects of excessive consumption and desires to shield her only child from going through similar experiences.
I would not want my child to take a lot of alcohol because I see the way it treats me after I take it and I would not want her to go through that. Whatever she will decide, will be up to her because she will be grown up but I would love to be around to limit her on the alcohol. I can stop her but still take it myself so I have to guide her, Winnie Nwagi noted.
As Destiny grows older, she desires to be more independent and Nwagi hopes to be present in her life so that she can guide her through the journey of life.
Unlike other artists who do not desire to have their children follow after them, Winnie Nwagi has on many occasions vowed to support her daughter’s career path.
