YouTube restores Irene Namatovu and Annet Nandujja’s “Fumba” song on the platform

Singer Irene Namatovu and Annet Nandujja are upbeat after YouTube restored their Fumba collaboration.

A few weeks back, singer Mariam Massa claimed copyright ownership over Irene and Nandujja’s Fumba, before it was pulled down by YouTube.

Mariam Massa claimed that the duo had recreated her song dubbed “Ofumba nga” which was released in April 2022 without her consent.

Irene Namatovu and her team have been working tirelessly to settle the disagreement, and fortunately yesterday the copyright claim was dropped and the song restored on YouTube.

Expressing her excitement via her socials, Irene Namatovu revealed that YouTube confirmed that the song’s removal was a mistake, and thanked her team for working down the clock to restore it on the video-sharing platform.
