Singer Ziza Bafana born Kasendwa Richard has narrated how he escaped a group of goons who wanted to rob and assault him immediately after his night performance at one of the hangout spots
Last week the dancehall artist was booked to entertain fans in Lugazi and after he stepped off stage, a group of young men who are well known for terrorizing people in that village surrounded him while he was in the company of his three friends.
The group forcefully demanded Ziza Bafana and his team to give them money and while he was still looking for his bag to give them what they wanted, they hit his car and broke the mirrors. They allegedly rounded him up and took his phone away to scare him.
Ziza Bafana headed to the police to report his stolen phone and acts of vandalism done to him and his team but the police remained reluctant to arrest the culprits. They instead gave them the go-ahead to hit them back if they wanted to collect their stolen items.
We wanted to fight them but there were too many. So, we decided to first move away and come up with a strategy. I knew how notorious they were and they wanted to prove to us that they were bad. After some time, we attacked them back and got revenge. It was a situation of life and death. We beat them and got back my phone but if I show you the videos of the people we beat up, you will not believe it, he narrated.
Ziza Bafana is not worried about facing criminal charges because he got permission from the police before he raided their camp.
I want to apologize to the parents and people of Lugazi for what I did to these boys because I know that they have become a problem for you too. I did it in a good way. The police told me they were also scared of the gang and we had to take matters in our own hands, he said.
