Female vocalist Princess Amirah has spoken out amidst criticism over the decision to settle for a third wife place to Minister of State Microfinance and Small Enterprises, Hon. Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune.
The singer who has faced harsh criticism and name-calling in the media appeared in a TikTok live to address the matter.
The ‘Oli Omwaana’ hitmaker expressed her frustration and disappointment towards people who have judged her and called her desperate over her decision. She noted that many of them were speaking out of ignorance, not knowing the uncertainties of life.
Princess Amirah revealed that just like other women, she had dreamed of getting married to a single man, however, life had other plans and she ended up in a situation where she had to choose what was right for her.
We are all in the school of marriage. After school, everyone thinks they will get married but this is when you see life in reality. You start hustling, looking for a future and a husband amidst pressure from the family. you might be the first wife, but the man will end up hiding you from your co-wives.
These things have happened to very many people but just because it is happening to me, it is sounding big. But we are all the same, I’m just like everybody else and love issues happen to me too. Me singing about love doesn’t mean I will create my own man and be immune to these things,” Princess Amirah said.
Princess Amirah also revealed that settling for Hon. Kasolo was not a mistake as she took her time while seeking guidance from God.
Princess Amirah recounts how she asked God for a sign to confirm that she had found the right man she was to get married to and how the minister had fulfilled the sign.
It so happened that when my man came to me, he did exactly what I had asked God for. I then stopped praying. Many men had earlier approached me but they kept failing the test. I just looked on but I already knew what I wanted. I waited and gave these men time while observing if they would do what I wanted and it was a secret between my God and I, she said.
