Dancehall singer, Alexander Bagonza commonly known as A Pass has cautioned fans against pressuring upcoming artists into staging concerts because of one hit song, warning that such events may flop.
The piece of advice comes after two young artists Acidic Vokoz and Mudra D Viral staged concerts on the same dates at different venues but with underwhelming results.
While Acidic Vokoz dared himself by organizing at one of the biggest venues in the country, the show failed to sell out, leaving many seats empty. Mudra, on the other hand, drew a modest crowd but still fell short of expectations.
A Pass who has released several hit songs but has never staged a concert, shared his own experience. In a recent interview, he highlighted that he was taking his time to prepare himself for a successful solo concert, which he hopes to stage next year.
He urged fans to allow these artists to develop at their own pace, rather than pushing them into staging concerts prematurely. By doing so, they can ensure adequate preparations which will increase their chances of staging a successful event.
You keep lying to these young artists. You put them up in the elevator to the topmost floor instead of going up the stairs and get to learn how long it takes to work and the challenges you might face on your way up.
In the same way, you hype these people to use the elevator, that is the same speed they will use to meet their demise. It is better to go through the right step, fail sometimes, and get called out for singing rubbish until they get it right, with this, these artists will improve, A Pass said.
