Alien Skin, Pallaso

Alien Skin acknowledges Pallaso’s surprising support amid legal troubles, reflects on their past rivalry

Alien Skin has finally addressed the solidarity that one of his archnemesis, Pallaso exhibited when he was arrested and remanded in Luzira over charges of phone theft and assault on Nsambya Hospital doctors last week.

Pallaso was among the very first artists to speak out after Alien Skin was taken to prison. Having been sworn enemies in the past, Pallaso’s public display of sympathy came as a shocker for netizens who thought they were still at loggerheads irrespective of the current situation.

Speaking to journalists upon his release, Alien Skin applauded Pallaso’s actions saying it was the right thing to do to show support for his fellow artist. Alien also noted that they had moved on from their fight and he would have done the same if he was in the same situation.

All that happened in the past. We are in the present and we are all artists. This was not about music but artists had to unite under one voice. He did what was right and I would have done the same if it was me, he said.

While many people believe that beef and fights between artists keep the industry interesting, Alien Skin doesn’t believe in this notion and says it is only done by artists who have struggling careers and no hit songs. This is the only way to look for relevancy and stay on the news.

I believe everyone wants us to make up. Attention-seeking through fights happens to people who are struggling to make music. When you have no music you have to look for other ways to stay relevant. If your career is booming, you have no time to do songs and stunts at the same time, he said.
