‘He Is Grown’ – Alien Skin Breaks Silence On Champion Ogudo’s Departure From His Care

Renowned singer Alien Skin has finally addressed the reasons behind his decision to release youngster Champion Ogudo, real name Ssendiwala Deogratius from his guardianship.

Champion Ogudo and his brother were expelled from Alien Skin’s camp, Fangone Forest based in Makindye, leaving them without financial support or hope for survival.

In a sit-down interview, Alien Skin explained that he let the 9-year-old go because he had grown musically and was earning money from his craft.

He advised Champion Gudo and his brother to be patient and thankful for the little they are earning, comparing their journey to his own experiences.

Musically, he is grown and he is making money out of it. There might be a sympathy card being played but at the level that he is on now, he is making money.

They might have not gotten where they want to be yet financially but they did not expect to earn the money they are making. They just have to be thankful to God for that. They should not pressurize themselves. Some people want to rush their success.

For example, they want to drive big cars from just one hit song and be on the same level as people who have done music for ten years. You just have to work hard; compare how long you have been doing music and be patient with what you do.

Musically, for my friends in music, I do not spoon-feed them. I give you the rod, teach you how to fish then let you go on your own, Alien Skin said.

Recently, Champion Ogudo who is in primary four expressed his desire to go back to school, however, he noted that he lacked the financial means to do so. Fortunately, Counsel Nalukoola Luyimbazi came out and pledged to support him financially to complete his education.

We agreed that he will start his education at Takuba Primary School and I have pledged to pay his fees. I want him to be both creative and educated. He is so talented and has to benefit this country with his education.

I hope we will get through it. After he finishes primary seven, we will see the situation at hand and see how we go forward on it, Counsel Nalukoola said.
