Ava Peace Acknowledges Borrowing ‘London’ Hook from Burna Boy

One of Uganda’s top female artists right now, Namugonza Maureen Peace, commonly known by her stage name Ava Peace has admitted to having used a phrase in her latest single that was taken from Burna Boy’s song.

Ava Peace recently released her dancehall track dubbed ‘London’ and in the hook, she incorporated a famous phrase sung in Burna Boy’s ‘Don Gorgon’ which was released in 2014

Several music lovers have tried to castigate her for it but in an interview, Ava Peace did not deny the claims, admitting that she indeed drew inspiration from the self-styled African Giant for her own song.

“Don Gorgon released ten years ago; anyone with a song that was released after that with that same phrase, and they are complaining that I stole it from them, it means they also got it from Burna Boy. I have never copied the whole song,” she said.
