Mukasa Andrew aka Bajjo Events expresses anger towards the mob that was allegedly hired by Chairman Nyanzi, the head of the mobilization National Unity platform people power movement.
In a video accessed by this website, Bajjo Events appreciated everyone who turned up to pay their respects to the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya. He thanked everyone who was able to keep the peace at the vigil as Hon Ssegirinya and he have been friends. Bajjo, however, had no kind words for the “hooliganism” that was displayed at the vigil
He claimed he had prior arrangements but chose not to attend because he had to be part of his friends’ vigil to mourn him and it would be wrong to not be there.
The promoter says before attending the vigil at Makerere Kavule, he spoke to the honorable’s family and he was invited before being received warmly. Bajjo Events says the MC then announced the speakers of the night and his name wasn’t mentioned but among the speakers mentioned was Chairman Nyanzi.
Bajjo Events asked Nyanzi if he wasn’t going to be allowed to speak to which Nyanzi told him to wait and that he would call him over to speak.
“Little did I know that Nyanzi was playing his political games. When he went on to speak he left without calling me.”
Upon standing up to leave, he was called back and asked to speak to the people. He says he went back as he tried to get the microphone, they didn’t want to give it to him but he got it finally and when he had just started speaking, he realized that chairman Nyanzi had already put together a team to start booing and throwing bottles.
He says the vigil was not the right place to start such chaos. Bajjo says people were mourning and it didn’t matter what political party anyone was affiliated to because it was not a campaign but rather a mourning session.
The event promoter went ahead and warned the NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine who is the younger brother of Chairman Nyanzi
“If you can not get Chairman Nyanzi out of politics, if you do not get family out of politics then you are in for a hard time.”
Bajjo Events says chairman Nyanzi was using their friends’ vigil to gain publicity, to fulfill his hidden political motives. He says the incident portrayed a bad image, and the late deserved some respect.
“What did I do to you people? You guys have decided to turn the political party into something silly and stupid. You have decided to show Ugandans how stupid you are. I will not tolerate any hooliganism and that’s why I let you do what you wanted. I thank Eddie Mutwe and Bobi Wine’s security for keeping the situation calm.”

Bajjo Events says he has been a very good friend of Ssegirinya’s even before he was let into NUP. He says he is Ssegirinya’s only genuine friend and that he’s displeased with how Nyanzi handled his friends’ vigil.
He asked the people of Kawempe North to vote for someone who was close enough to Ssegirinya
“In order to give back to Ssegirinya, the people of Kawempe North should vote for somebody close enough to Ssegirinya instead of voting for these bad people.”

Bajjo Events condemns the act of turning the honorable’s death into a political stunt and causing chaos at the vigil. he stressed this hooliganism and stupidity are what stopped some of them from winning the elections.
