Renowned Uganda Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa on Saturday 3 August 2024 survived a deadly helicopter accident.
According to sources, Thomas Tayebwa had traveled to Bushenyi by chopper to be part of the customary Kuhingira ceremony of Ms. Edinah Ainomugisha and Mr. Albert Bagabe in western Uganda.
Unfortunately, the deputy speaker encountered an accident while on his way back to Kampala from Bushenyi.
Luckily enough, no occupant was injured, based on Deputy Thomas Tayebwa’s confirmation via his Twitter account.
Dear all, my colleagues and I are all okay. No one is hurt.
While details regarding the cause of the crash are still scanty, concerned parties have initiated investigations into the matter.

At present, the deputy speaker is currently recuperating from the accident shock, and expected to resume his duties soon.
