Desire Luzinda champions decency among public figures, urging a shift towards respectful representation

Desire Luzinda has spoken out on the importance of decency especially among women and young girls in the spotlight. Having been a victim of revenge porn herself, the singer has experienced the guilt and shame of recording and sharing intimate content.

Desire’s troubles started when her private photos were leaked all over social media by her supposed ex-lover. The incident took a toll on her mental health because of the huge public criticism and social media trolls.

Desire used the situation to re-evaluate her life decisions, specifically her faith. She not only became a born-again and transitioned from doing secular music to gospel but also changed her fashion sense, adopting a modest style. She is now using her voice to encourage young people to be more decent and cover-up.

According to Desire Luzinda, indecent dressing and leaking of intimate content might give them temporary excitement but have long-lasting consequences that they will live to regret. Their actions could leave a digital footprint that will most likely cause damage to their reputation in the future.

I want to tell this to the girls, as you go down the road there are many things that you will regret. they should take lessons from us who have gone through all that and come out.

We did so many things out of ignorance but never gained anything. At the moment it might be exciting and  even give you lots of fans and support but that is not something you can look up to that can sustain you. It will die down and reality will kick in eventually. Just cover up and be decent,” Desire Luzinda said.
