Singer Evelyn Nakabira alias Evelyn Lagu has been pronounced dead this morning after a long while of battling multiple chronic illnesses.
A few years back, singer Evelyn Lagu was diagnosed with chronic kidney and heart complications which saw her to and fro the hospital on a daily.
This saw well-wishers gather millions of shillings to foot the singer’s pricey kidney transplant in Turkey in an effort to save her life.
However, because of her health situation at the time, doctors counselled her against getting the transplant, saying that her condition couldn’t support the procedure.
Since then, Evelyn Lagu has been relying on dialysis until she lost the battle. Prior to the development, Evelyn had been promoting her charity concert dubbed “Evelyn Love Charity concert” which was meant to take place at Papaz Spot in Makindye on 28 October 2023.
Evelyn’s aim for the charity concert was to see her fans together as they celebrated and remembered her before her death. Additionally, the singer wanted to use the proceeds to foot her medical bills.
The sad news of Evelyn Lagu’s death was pronounced by UNMF president Eddy Kenzo before it was confirmed by the late singer’s social media accounts.
