Late singer and actress Evelyn Lagu’s son Freddie Kasavu reveals that the last hug he had with his mother will endure forever in his memory.
This morning, the sad news of Evelyn Lagu’s death rocked social media after three years of battling kidney and heart complications.
Having failed to undergo a kidney transplant which her son had vowed to donate due to her then-deteriorated health condition, Evelyn has been relying on weekly dialysis.
According to her son Freddie Kasavu, the mother underwent her weekly dialysis on Sunday (17 September) at Kiruddu Hospital, before returning home but was very weak.
However, her health drastically deteriorated in the wee hours, and midway through being prepared to be rushed to Mulago Hospital, she ceased being responsive.
On reaching Mulago, the doctors examined her, before pronouncing her dead. Freddie adds that prior to his mother’s death, she hugged him intimately, something so unusual with her.
