Promoter Matsiko calls out Geoffrey Lutaaya for snubbing his event despite being paid

Masaka-based events promoter Ssalongo DJ Matsiko has called out band singer Geoffrey Lutaaya for failure to appear at his event despite being paid a huge sum of money.

According to the senior promoter, he organized a show to open up his new hangout joint Matsiko Beach and the Da Nu Eagles band founder was one of the acts lined up to perform alongside other artists like David Lutalo.

On the day of the event, Geoffrey Lutaaya did not turn up, and together with his wife, refused to pick up calls when Matsiko tried to get through to them.

Lutaaya himself took our money but did not turn up despite getting the deposit. He didn’t stop at that but went ahead to tell people that he was not aware about it. He is so chaotic and many people have consistently warned me about how he handles his business.

I was so angry because the place is new and when you start doing this to fans who have come to support you, it is embarrassing. He knew about the show; he was just lying. I do not know if he is just tired of doing music, he said.

Out of frustration, Matsiko got the microphone, hit the stage, and started hurling insults at Geoffrey Lutaaya in his absence. He accused him of being arrogant and a wiseacre yet he was no longer a trending artist. He also lamented about the losses he made when he had to refund some money to the revelers who had come through after Lutaaya’s failure to show up.

Lutalo is going to perform, does Lutaaya claim to be bigger than him? You just want to embarrass us and tarnish the name of our place that we pin artists who do not come through. They have not been picking my calls together with his wife, he said.

Geoffrey Lutaaya is yet to comment on the allegations because he is allegedly out of the country.
