Gravity Omutujju clarifies that rumored beef with Jose Chameleone was just a joke, exaggerated by fans

Gravity Omutujju has finally addressed the supposed grudge between him and fellow artist Jose Chameleone, revealing that it was all a misunderstanding fueled by fans on social media.

Last year, Jose Chameleone’s ‘Gwanga Mujje’ concert was canceled due to the heavy rains that destroyed the stage just a few hours before the show. Gravity Omutujju went ahead to post his song ‘Mukama Akola’ (loosely translated from Luganda to mean ‘God Works’) moments after the unfortunate incident, sparking a social media frenzy. Fans linked the post to the show’s cancellation with some mocking Chameleone and others sympathizing.

Amidst all this drama, Gravity never came out to clear the air, adding fuel to the rumors of a beef between the two artists.

Gravity Omutujju has now come forward, stating that he and Chameleone are friends and his post was misinterpreted. He explained that fans twisted his narrative, and he chose not to clarify the situation at the time and just went with the wave.

I was speaking about something else, and Ugandans twisted the narrative. I made a statement at a time when the stage had just fallen, so Ugandans went with it. Remember I had called them out for not giving me a drop for my Tusimbudde concert and they put 2 and 2 together. I was just saying my own things but when they twisted it like this, I also went with the wave. But I have no problem with Chameleone, he said.

The alleged beef was further fueled by Gravity’s Omutujju criticism of Chameleone for not promoting his ‘Tusimbudde’ concert that year and when a video surfaced of the Leone Island boss physically assaulting a boda boda rider who scratched his Range Rover, he condemned his actions, saying he had no right to be violent over a car he did not buy himself.

However, Gravity Omutujju who now owns a Range Rover, understands Chameleone’s feelings. He jokingly stated that he would also defend his car against damage after knowing how expensive it is.

I called him out for beating boda boda men and this was before I bought a Range Rover. After I bought it for myself, I realized I would also beat them up because they are very stubborn sometimes, Gravity Omutujju said.
