Fast-rising musician Joshua Baraka has addressed the ongoing debate surrounding his romantic relationship with 25-year-old rising deejay and radio personality Etania Mutoni who is two years older than him.
Despite internet users criticizing the age gap, the 23-year-old Dalilah hitmaker remains unbothered, explaining that their love goes beyond age differences.
Etania is not even that older than me. She is older than me by like one or two years but there are people out there with a bigger age difference and it doesn’t really matter. It depends on what you as a person can handle and what kind of person you are, Joshua Baraka revealed
The couple who made their relationship official last year after a year of dating, has faced scrutiny over their age difference. However, Joshua Baraka emphasizes that maturity is not solely determined by age, as people develop at different rates. He believes that a two-year gap is insignificant, especially considering the love between them.
You might find an 8-year-old with a more mature mind than a 40-year-old. It depends on a person and their experiences. You can get an older person but with a very childish mind. So, it depends on how you guys are and how deep you connect. If you both want it, I don’t see why anyone would even be bothered. It doesn’t matter and our gap is not even that big,” he added.
Joshua Baraka and Etania had been together for a year before they opened their relationship up to the public and when asked if they were soon officiating it, Baraka revealed that they have opted to take their relationship slowly and not rush into marriage or cohabiting. They are currently focusing on nurturing their bond and ignoring the pressure from the public.

We are not there yet. It is still too early for us. Just give me like three years for me to start thinking about it. It is just people putting us under pressure but it is quite early for us, he revealed.
