Rapper Keko, real name Jocelyn Tracy, has opened up about her ongoing struggles with mental illness and her efforts to overcome it.
Keko rose to fame over a decade back with smash hits like “How We Do It” and “Let Me Go”. However, behind the scenes, Keko was struggling with mental health issues that eventually led to her taking a break from music and seeking treatment.
Following her return to the country, Keko was tasked to remark on her position and what has been the path and where she is right now far as her mental health battles are concerned.
In her reply, Keko disclosed that she has encountered challenges with her mental well-being and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
However, she expresses gratitude for having received appropriate mental support, which led to her being introduced to a psychologist and psychiatrist. This enabled her to discuss issues that she had previously been unable to disclose to anyone.
Keko stated that periodic communication with an individual can aid in addressing certain obstacles and challenges that one may be encountering, which may not be feasible to discuss with others.

The rapper acknowledged that following a period of therapy and medication, she is presently progressing towards recovery and holds a firm belief in her eventual restoration to a state of normal well-being.
I actually had struggles with my mental health I was actually diagnosed with schizophrenia, but thankfully with the right mental support, I was introduced to a psychologist and psychiatrist so I can get to talk to them if I can’t talk to anybody about something. You need to talk to somebody every now and then to help you out with some of the hiccups and difficulties you’re going through that you can’t speak to probably with anyone else, especially with young people they have different things they go through that they probably can’t talk just with anybody about. So, you need that voice that is independent that you can talk to I just let it out the more you talk about stuff the easier it becomes and the lighter it becomes. So where I am now is quite better, I got medication and yeah I am in a good health space right now.
